Seal Them Out for Good—1-Year Warranty Included
Trapping gets rid of the rodents inside—but if you don't seal where they're getting in, new ones will move in within days. Our rodent proofing service starts with a comprehensive inspection to identify every entry point: roof undershots, wall flashing gaps, HVAC penetrations, crawlspace vents, and more. Then we seal them using hardware cloth, metal flashing, and professional-grade materials. All exclusion work comes with a one-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rodent Proofing & Exclusion
What's the difference between rodent trapping and rodent proofing?
Trapping eliminates rodents currently inside your home. Proofing (exclusion) seals the entry points to prevent new rodents from getting in. If you have an active infestation, we recommend trapping first to eliminate what's inside, then proofing to keep them out. See our Rodent Trapping service for active infestations.
How are rodents getting into my house?
The most common entry points we find are: gaps where the roof meets the wall (undershots), damaged or missing vent screens, wall flashing that's pulled away from the roof, and gaps around HVAC lines or plumbing. Trees with branches within 5 feet of your roof also provide direct access—roof rats are excellent climbers.
What does the rodent inspection include?
Our inspection covers your attic, garage, crawlspace (if accessible), and the entire exterior perimeter. We look for droppings, gnaw marks, grease trails, nesting materials, and entry points. You'll receive a detailed report with photos identifying all potential entry points, recommended repairs, and itemized costs.
What materials do you use to seal entry points?
We use professional-grade materials that rodents can't chew through: hardware cloth for vent screens and larger openings, metal flashing for roof-to-wall junctions, steel wool combined with expanding foam for pipe penetrations, and concrete patching for foundation gaps. All materials are selected for durability and gnaw-resistance.
Does rodent proofing come with a warranty?
Yes—all exclusion work comes with a one-year warranty. If rodents re-enter through areas we sealed during that year, we return at no additional cost to address the issue. This warranty applies to our proofing work specifically; new entry points from structural damage or deferred maintenance would be quoted separately.
How much does rodent exclusion cost?
Exclusion pricing varies based on the number and type of entry points. A simple job sealing a few gaps might be $400-600; a home with multiple roof entry points and crawlspace work could be $1,000-2,000+. The inspection provides an itemized quote so you see exactly what you're paying for—no surprises.
Should I do trapping before exclusion?
If you have active rodent activity (hearing noises, seeing droppings), yes—we recommend trapping first. You don't want to seal rodents inside your home. Once trapping brings the population under control, we proceed with exclusion. If you're proactively sealing entry points with no current infestation, we can go straight to exclusion.
Can you seal entry points I can't reach?
Yes. Our technicians are equipped to work on roofs, in attics, in crawlspaces, and on ladders. We identify entry points in areas most homeowners can't easily access—roof undershots, high eave vents, and tight crawlspaces are all part of our standard inspection and exclusion work.
Should I trim trees near my house?
Yes, if you have roof rat concerns. Roof rats use tree branches as highways to your roof. We recommend maintaining at least 5 feet of clearance between tree branches and your roofline. Our inspection will note any trees that provide rodent access, and we can recommend arborists if major trimming is needed.
What if I have rodents in a rental property?
We work with many property management companies in Sacramento. We can coordinate directly with tenants for access, provide detailed inspection reports with photos for property owners, and handle the entire process from inspection through exclusion. Our invoices and documentation are property-management friendly.
How long does exclusion work take?
Most exclusion jobs are completed in a single visit, typically 2-4 hours depending on the number of entry points. Larger jobs with extensive roof work may require a full day. We'll provide a timeline estimate with your quote.
Will exclusion work prevent all rodents forever?
Exclusion dramatically reduces your risk by sealing known entry points. However, homes settle, weather damages materials, and new gaps can develop over time. Our one-year warranty covers re-entry through areas we sealed. For ongoing protection, our Barrier Seasonal Plus plan includes exterior rodent monitoring.
